I DID IT (PART 2)? VIABLE (BUT STILL S**T) 99% FLAMER BUILD INSIDE.

15

Obviously, my experience is limited, so I wouldn't be surprised if something like the Grav-Gun can still dominate right now, but my Nade launcher build got absolutely ass-***ed, so I had to switch.

Past two days, I uninstalled two or three times, so yeah, I was annoyed (with Neocore's massive nerf hammer swing).

Anyway, I ditched the following:
1) nade launcher (obv)
2) diversive tactics
3) stride of the blessed
4) debuff tree
5) % dam/debuff (obv, given that I ditched dt and debuff tree)
6) invuln on kill morality armor (STILL GOOD...MAY BE GOING BACK TO IT)
7) max crit str (no need because of the dot breakpoints)

Here is the new build
https://imgur.com/a/SenGj9A

New build's pros and cons:
+big AOE damage (considering how hard the new 99s+ are)
+double -50% doctrines (maybe I'm imagining things, but these babies really make the diff at the highest difficulties)
+huge sustain (flamer primary enchant + turrets + inoc)
+good debuffs
-have to get CLOSE (this, at times, is a struggle...and I have to use my turrets as bait, initially)

Overall, although I was pissed at first, I'm actually glad the game is tough once more. Hopefully, Neocore boosts the end-game items some more...cause doing the hard stuff with no recompense isn't the greatest...maybe I will find some beastly morality relics down the road to take my build even further.

Nice, I was wondering at first where you were getting 500% burn damage from, then I looked closer...

What's funny is that, before the patch, I wanted more damage. Now? I NEED more damage reduction.
I was looking at this page:
https://github.com/GnawingPrinter/W40k_IM_config_files/wiki/Morality-enchants-with-items

And I noticed that they added new morality enchants. There is one that eliminates the DR cap.

Blessed_Armour_DR_nocap:

assault_armor_b_Blessed_Armour_TankDR_Crusader_Blessed_Armour_DR_nocap (morality)
demolition_armor_b_Blessed_Armour_TankDR_Crusader_Blessed_Armour_DR_nocap (morality)
sentinel_armor_b_Blessed_Armour_TankDR_Crusader_Blessed_Armour_DR_nocap (morality)

I need this armor!!! Right now, even 70% feels risky when doing 99% missions.

I am going to try out this doctrine as well:

Aegis Psalm + Voltagheist Psalm + Voltaic Psalm + Technomartyr Psalm + Shroud Psalm + Transonic Psalm
+100% Suppression regeneration and +10% Damage Reduction per second while channeling skills (maximum +40% Damage Reduction)

Maybe it goes past the 60% soft cap? Would be great for my build...since flamer has a useful channel skill that I use often.

There's also an enchant on signums from the inferno season that might be useful.. I don't know whether they willl still work after it ends, or become included in the pool or what though.

It's kinda funny how I decided to go flamer but not participate in this first season. =\

Also, I think I know what that morality armor is...IIRC I found one (or more) in the past. It's +DR that can go over the cap.

I decided to switch out the Heatsinks perk for Crisis Management. Seems like the better choice. I also tried Unholy Cathedral and got to 123 before I quit. Dunno if Neocore changed the diff. scaling for it, but it seemed pretty easy with the new flamer build.

Also got rid of the ranged heat reduction passive (Overheat Mastery) and instead invested the points into the health tree (Regenerative Bionics + Pain Suppression), as the +supp/health synergy synergizes well with my flamer's primary enchant.

Very nice build. Your gear is pretty awesome. I dont want to imagine how much materials and credits you had to invest. Got 1 or 2 ideas for my new crusader from your descriptions. Just have to find the motivation to level another character up.

I noticed a step increase in enemy-tankyness in missions above +6. According to the patchnotes it should be the mentioned HP-scaling. But you wrote that the +50% -50% doctrine seems to work wonders. Have you tried with 100% doctrines too? Would be nice to know if it is just hp-scaling or if the enemys got much higher resists on higher levels too.

Have fun slaying/burning Xenos, Heretics and Demons. ;-P

Thanks. And yeah, I spent quite a few resources getting those items...but it's also a lot easier when you have just one character. Also, Neocore is generous with re-rolling...in most games, you cannot optimize your gear as easily. Finally, be sure to log in each night to buy the mats/items from the Ordos vendors and the Sacred Vault.

As for the enemy toughness post-seasons patch, I don't know what happened. I'm guessing they have more life now, but when I switched to double -50% doctrines, I thought I saw an increase in (my) damage. As I said in the initial post, maybe I am just imagining things.

I will experiment with different things in the future and update this thread.

Oh yeah, it's possible I noticed a big difference because I tested in a 99% supreme mission that rolled two +% heat resist modifiers. One was +89%, I think...

Maybe vs normal enemies, the double doctrines don't have that big of an effect.
TBH, though, I still don't know how resistances work in this game. I remember one of the devs, trebron55, explained it in Discord, but I forget the details.

I think it can only exceed cap by 5% (at least I found holy armour that says +5dr, can exceed cap). Same exists with crit on weapon (+10/can exceed by5) and deflect on armour (+deflect/chance to blind on deflect). I went with the deflect chance one, as that goes up to 10% (I found 8.6%), plus I use it on a max deflect build.

Wow that's awesome, thanks for sharing.

I'm testing different things right now on a 99 Khorne mission...not satisfied. My damage sucks compared to what it used to be. I would say I was about 50-100x stronger before this patch...talk about a ridiculous nerf orgy.
