- Compendium for Inquisitor
Welcome, Inquisitor!
Here you will find all the insider information about Inquisitor in detail. The 2.0 update was a free overhaul of W40K: Inquisitor, designed to push the game towards a more traditional ARPG feel, while adding more content and variety to the game. You can use the navigation panel at the right to quickly access sections.
Note: The values and mechanics described here are subject to change upon release and future updates.
Last update: 2024. 11. 05.
Quick Facts
Crafting has been revamped to give players a better access to useful items while not being overly complicated. Therefore, the number of crafting materials have been reduced, and the Tech Tree has been altered as well.
- All crafting times have been removed so items are now instantly created upon crafting them.
- The blueprint system has been altered. Old blueprints have been removed, and numerous new ones have been added.
- Crafted items create items based on player level.
- Relic items can now be crafted occassionally via the Crafting panel.
- Fusion is now the name of the feature that allows players to fuse sockets onto an item.
Current crafting materials include:
- Artificer material: Ancient Mechanism
- Relic material: Machine God's Spark
- Archeotech Relic material: Spark of Glory
Modify
- Relic enchants can be modified. Secondary enchants can be rerolled as well to support the main Relic enchant better.
- Players can now reroll the value of a single enchant. Price: 1 Ancient Mechanism for lower tier items, and 1 Machine God's Spark for items above Artificer level.
- Players can now reroll an item's full enchantment list for credits.
- Players can now reroll a single enchant's type. Price: 1 Ancient Mechanism for lower tier items, and 1 Machine God's Spark for items above Artificer level.
- Players can now reroll an item's base value (e.g. damage for weapons) for credits
Crafting Capacity
Items have Crafting Capacity which determines how many times that item can be modified. Integrity can be enhanced via the Crafting panel as well, using credits and materials. Integrity is displayed in the top right corner of an item's tooltip. |
Modify Type | Cost in Credits | Materials Required | Craft Capacity |
Increase Item Level | no. of increase * item level * rarity * 1000 (Rarity value is 1 for Rare or below, 2 for Artificer, 10 for Relic, 20 for tiers above) | #1: Ancient Mechanism x1 #2: Ancient Mechanism x3 #3: Machine God's Spark x1 #4: Machine God's Spark x4 #5: Spark of Glory x1 | 0 |
Increase Integrity | item level * rarity * 200 | Machine God's Spark x1 | 0 |
Reroll All Enchants | item level * rarity * 100 | Rare or below: Ancient Mechanism x1 Artificer: Ancient Mechanism x2 Tiers above: Machine God's Spark x1 | 1 |
Reroll Specific Enchant Type | item level * rarity * 50 | Rare or below: Ancient Mechanism x1 Artificer: Ancient Mechanism x3 Tiers above: Machine God's Spark x1 | 1 |
Reroll Single Enchant Value | item level * rarity * 50 | Rare or below: Ancient Mechanism x1 Artificer: Ancient Mechanism x3 Tiers above: Machine God's Spark x1 | 1 |
Reroll Single Attribute Value | item level * rarity * 100 | Rare or below: Ancient Mechanism x1 Artificer: Ancient Mechanism x3 Tiers above: Machine God's Spark x1 | 1 |
Salvage
Relic items provide 1 piece of Machine God's Spark, Archeotech Relics provide 1 Sparks of Glory, while Ancient and Morality Relics provide 3 Sparks of Glory.
Players can increase an item's level in the following way:
- 1 level: 1x Ancient Mechanism
- 2 levels: 3x Ancient Mechanism
- 3 levels: 1x Machine God's Spark
- 4 levels: 3x Machine God's Spark
- 5 levels: 1x Spark of Glory
By gaining an item level, a piece of gear will have increased base and enchant values.
Patch 2.0 introduces socketed items, Archeotech Shards, and Psalm-Codes to the game. These items can drop during missions and can be found in loot caches as well. Both socketable item types are designed to enhance and reinforce the Inquisitor's gear. Below you will find the bonuses applied by each item in a table.
|
Possible Socket Numbers per item type:
Note: Higher tier items have a better chance to gain more sockets, while lower tier items will tend to have socket numbers from the lower range of the spectrum.
- One-Handed weapons: 1-4 sockets
- Two-Handed weapons: 1-6 sockets
- Armor: 1-6 sockets
- Main Implant: 1-3 sockets
- Inoculator: 1-3 sockets
- Belt: 1-2 sockets
Here you will find a complete list of all available Archeotech Shards within the game, as well as their applied bonuses.
Archeotech Shards have a quality modifier. You will be able to combine Shards of the same quality to a higher tier Shard. This can be done at the crafting panel.
The crafting table of Archeotech Shards goes like this:

Psalm-Codes can be obtained by players in a similar way to Archeotech Shards, but give different bonuses. In addition, there exist specific Psalm-Code Doctrines that result in an unique, powerful bonus.
Psalm-Codes can be combined in a pyramid-manner, e.g. combining three Psalm-Codes of the same kind will result in a single Psalm-Code of higher quality.

The Tarot System has been reworked in the following way:
- Tarot Cards can be achieved through leveling up or through the loot system.
- Tarot Mission generation from the old UI has been removed.
- Every Open World mission can be applied a Tarot Card.
- Tarot cards can now be leveled up to level 5 for increased effect.
Major Arcana cards can now be applied onto missions with major difficulty modifiers and gameplay elements.
Tarot Card leveling works like this:
Level | Combine amount | Credit cost |
1 | Base Tarot Card | 0 |
2 | 10 Cards | 25 000 |
3 | 50 Cards | 100 000 |
4 | 100 Cards | 500 000 |

Tarot cards accumulate and stack up over time, and to level them up, you need to spend credits in order to level them.

The Void Crusade is a new, endgame campaign that can be assembled and started via the new Tarot System. Players can combine and choose between mission routes in order to gain the best possible endgame loot, both quantity and quality-wise. You can gain access to the Void Crusade via launching it from the Command Bridge by using the Void Crusade stone that previously opened the old Tarot panel.
Quick Facts
- Unlocks at Level 35.
- Void Shards start dropping from the loot system at Level 30 to make Starting the first Void Crusade easier.
- When Void Crusades are unlocked, the first Crusade started by the player (any color) is free.
- Players can gain Shards from Challenges, Major Arcana mission rewards, or from the Void Crusade itself.
- Assembling 5 shards of the same type creates the Void Crusade map that can be accessed from the Command Bridge.
- Players have a limited amount of tries on the entire Void Crusade map before having to recreate it again from Shards.
- Each completed mission on the Void Crusade map will add to a stacking loot bonus and slight difficulty modifier.
- Hidden and Covert Missions can be unlocked by completing hidden events or finding secret info-fragments. These missions give further unique loot bonuses or allow more tries for the player
- Supreme Missions are located at the end with challenging bosses and missions
- Completing objectives and missions on the Void Crusade map rewards players with Keys
- Players may acquire a total of 6 keys from the Void Crusade
- After finishing a Supreme Mission, players can use a teleporter on the map to get transported to the final loot room where they can open Void Chests
- Players may open as many Loot Caches as they can with the number of acquired Keys at hand, besides the Supreme Void Chest which does not require a key to open
Cogitators are hidden across some of the maps which give clues about the Loot Caches' content at the final loot screen
- Unique scripts and seven new game modes are available, such as Secure the Artifact, Sabotage, or Nurgle Hunt
- New tilesets are available: Deathworld, Desert, Monastery, and Factory
Detailed Void Crusade mechanics
There are available 9 Void Chests after completing a Supreme Mission, but the maximum amount of keys a player can get is six.
- 2 keys are granted by an End Mission
- A key is granted after completing 5 missions of any kind
- A key is granted after completing at least 2 Bonus missions
- A key is granted after completing all Covert and Hidden missions
- A key is granted after defeating the Wandering Servoskull
You can find 5 Cogitators across the whole Void Crusade map. These will give players Info-fragments about the content of one loot cache from the final loot screen. All loot caches contain different loot types, so players can rely on luck or on the information gained from the Info-fragment Cogitators to access the type of loot they exactly need.
The 9 Void Chests always contain specialized loot:
Void Chest #1 | Psalm-Codes
Void Chest #2 | Archeotech Shards
Void Chest #3 | Tarot Cards, Empyrean Seals, & Void Shards
Void Chest #4 | Crafting Materials
Void Chest #5 | Blueprints
Void Chest #6 | Consumables
Void Chest #7 | Items (Higher chance for Morality Relics)
Void Chest #8 | Items (Higher chance for Ancient Relics)
Void Chest #9 | Items (Higher chance for Archeotech Relics) |
There are 2 types of secret missions scattered across the Void Crusade map - Hidden and Covert missions. These have special unlock conditions and give a neat bonus to players completing them:
- Hidden Missions need to be unlocked first by completing certain basic Missions
- Covert Missions are unlocked by completing special events completed in Hidden and Bonus missions.
- Completing all 3 Bonus Missions grants the player +2 extra lives
- Hidden & Covert Missions contribute to the Loot Modifiers greatly, so it is always worth to do them!
Every map completed on the Void Crusade has 3 modifiers:
- End Loot Bonus: Increases the quantity of loot within the Supreme Void Chest
- Mission Loot Rarity Bonus: Increases the chance for higher quality drops during missions
- Mission Loot Quality Bonus: Increases rolled enchant values on dropped items
The bravest of Inquisitors can apply Tarot Cards to these missions, further increasing the rewards gained from individual missions (Tarot Cards do not modify the stacking loot bonus on the Void Crusade map). However, players should be aware of the two following factors:
- Failing a mission will make that whole branch of the Void Crusade unavailable
- Dying six times in total fails the entire Void Crusade map, which needs to be relaunched afterwards from new Shards.
Wandering Servoskull During Void Crusades, players may encounter a Wandering Servoskull. The presence of a Servoskull is indicated by a special icon on the Void Crusade map when the player arrives to a nearby mission. Within the mission, the player will receive a message when the encounter with the Servoskull starts. The Servoskull tries to escape fast, and the player has a limited time to defeat it before the Servoskull disappears. If succesful, the player is rewarded with high quality loot, increased mission loot bonuses, and an extra Void Chest Key. The location of the Wandering Servoskull is picked at random when a Void Crusade is generated, and it also randomly spawns on various spots within missions. |
Hardcore Void Crusade
Players can launch a Hardcore Void Crusade - however, this will increase the Shard requirement from 5 to 7 Void Shards. Within a Hardcore Crusade, players have only one life, one opportunity to pull off a perfect run, as the Crusade is instantly failed after the first death. The mechanics that give extra lives for players (completing Bonus missions, for example) are locked in Hardcore mode and do not work.
Of course, as the stakes are higher, the rewards that go with a Hardcore Crusade are increased as well. Players receive a whopping 50% bonus for all loot bonuses within a Hardcore Void Crusade.
The Challenge system is a quick and simple way for Inquisitors to earn some additional bonus loot. Players will receive a new Challenge every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and upon completing a challenge, players will receive bonus loot. |
- Players can have 5 active Challenges up at once.
- If a Player does not have a free Challenge slot, they will do not receive a new Challenge
- Players will be able to swap a Challenge a day to a new one in a future update

The Warzone now has a hundred random missions to increase variety, but the Leaderboards will work similarly than before.
The First stage of the Warzone in progress
- A total of 100 Warzone maps are implemented.
- New tilesets are available: Deathworld, Desert, Monastery, and Factory.
- These are grouped into ten blocks of ten missions with a mini-story that links them together.
- Every mission will have Warzone Hazards, with one Hazard for the first 20 missions, then two for the next 20, and so on.
- The last mission of every Warzone mission group will have an extra difficulty modifier.
- Failing a Warzone mission group will result in having to start that block of 10 missions over.
- The Warzone GUI has been reworked to accomodate these changes.
- Favour has been removed along with the Warzone Vendor.

Intels can be found occassionally from the standard loot system, appearing as items in the player's Inventory. Using an Intel opens a brand new mission on the Starmap, which of course will appear on the Mission Deployment window as well. These missions will be distinguished on the Starmap as well. |
The level of the Intel Mission is determined when the item drops for the player as such:
- Same level: 40% chance
- +1 level: 20% chance
- +2 levels: 20% chance
- +3 levels: 20% chance
Each of these missions will have difficulty modifiers, based on Warzone Hazards. Each difficulty modifier is applied a bonus loot value - but the base rewards of the intel missions will be a lot better on its own as well than regular open world mission rewards.
The number of difficulty modifiers is rolled as such:
- 1x diff. modifier: 10%
- 2x diff. modifiers: 30%
- 3x diff. modifiers: 30%
- 4x diff. modifiers: 20%
- 5x diff. modifiers: 10%
Loot bonuses include:
- A chance to increase to Relic drop rates at the expense of lower tier items
- Raising the minimum base and enchant values on dropped items
- A chance per every item drop chance that another item will be dropped with the same chances
- Greatly increased Archeotech Shard drop chances
- Greatly increased Psalm-Code drop chances
You can apply Tarot Cards to these missions as well.

Hierophant Blessings & Spells
Hierophant Inquisitors have access to various Blessings - spells that either have an area of effect or apply directly to the target. Some of them have drawbacks but by positioning and timing them correctly, the Hierophant can definitely gain an edge on the field.
You can access your Blessings Interface on the Command Bridge where you can set up your Spells or your Retinue.
The Hierophant can have two active Spells for starters, but he can also utilize the Holy Censer that grants him an additional Spell Slot as a belt item. Some spells require either a Libram or a Dialogous Staff to be equipped - choose your armament wisely.

Inquisitorial Retinue
The Hierophant has access to a whole new feature within the game: Retinue Management. This means that the Hierophant can travel with up to four AI companions who he can command in battle.
The Crusader is unlocked after completing the Tutorial missions. The Crusader in your Retinue was raised and trained in a Schola Progenium to serve the Ecclesiarchy, the priesthood of the Imperium, as a bodyguard and holy warrior. After countless years of service, his spirit was broken from the grueling hardships, but he was deemed too honorable to be terminated. He underwent a deep Mind Cleansing as per standard inquisitorial protocols and was put under your supervision to serve the Imperium with a renewed sense of duty. Crusaders are fearsome warriors using heavy armour and weaponry. On the battlefield they relentlessly march through fire, like the legendary Juggernauts of the old Terran myths. They are trading mobility for protection and firepower.
The Assassin is unlocked after reaching Level 20. The Death Cult Assassin in your Retinue was the product of the Officio Assassinorum, with hundreds of secret cleansing operations under her belt. After completing a vermilion level chaos purge, she was flagged by the Administratum Assassinorum as a „possible moral threat” and pre-scheduled her terminaton. Instead, she was transferred to a chemical mind scrubbing facility and now serves as an inquisitorial asset. Death Cult assassins are specialists of deceit, who express their worship through death. They are experts in hit-and-run tactics and exotic weapons. In combat they rely on their acrobatic skills and speed, thus preferring lighter armour and weapons.
The Psyker is unlocked after reaching Level 35. The Primaris Psyker in your Retinue was picked up as a rare talent at a primitive world and was trained by the Scholastica Psykana, within the Adeptus Astra Telepathica. After failing his final evalution, he was transferred to an inquisitorial surgical facility as a test subject. Following a series of undisclosed experiments, he was deemed „fit to operate”, but only under a inquisitor's supervision, well versed in the ways of the Ecclesiarchy. Primaris Psykers are sanctioned mutants, disdained, yet essential to the Imperium, experts in harnessing the boundless power of the Warp. In combat they rely on their psychic powers, preferring light armour and psychically attuned weapons.
The Battle Sister is unlocked after reaching Level 50. The Battle Sister in your Retinue have failed the unforgiving religious code of the Adepta Sororitas. After self-confessing her sins, she was sentenced to be stripped of her armour and was scheduled to be reassigned to the Sister Repentia - until absolution in death on the battlefield was achieved. Due to inquisitorial intervention, the sentence was stayed and she was sent to a re-indoctrination plant, until the release to serve under your command. Battle Sisters wield both sanctified Imperial weaponry and the power of their unquestioning Faith, mercilessly rooting out corruption and heresy within humanity. At the peak of their fervor they can become Embodied Saints, living vessels for the Emperor’s will. |
You can manage your Retinue at the Command Bridge or by pressing the Retinue button on the UI during missions. Retinue Members have their own gear, which is marked within the labels on the ground and within your inventory as well.
Retinue Members' maximum level is limited to your Character Level, therefore they are unable to gain XP if they reach your Character Level. Retinue Members gain a Skill Point every five levels - spend them wisely!
The Psyker and the Battle Sister are unique in a sense that they gain access to new abilities from their Passive Skills, so be sure to use them to their maximum potential! The Psyker can buff allies and use devastating Psychic Powers, while the Battle Sister can use her Embodied Saint form.
It is important to note that Retinue Members gain the same hidden resistances and avoidance bonuses as Tech Adept Constructs to avoid them being squishier in true endgame missions. This constitutes a 90% Resistance to Persistent enemy skills, and a scaling DoT resistance that maxes out at Retinue Level 100.
Each Retinue Member has their own skill tree that allows the player to specialize into various useful things - The Crusader can become a formidable tank, and the Psyker can have a vast array of buffs and devastating Psychic Powers - it is up to the player to decide which way he wants them to go. Moreover, Retinue Members have a free Perk Slot. Here, you can select one of your unused perks for the Retinue Member for adding an unique Perk Effect to them - see the Perks section for more info. If you do not wish to have a Retinue Member with you during a mission, you can undeploy them on this screen as well. Your Retinue Members can be managed - and targeted - on the battle GUI as well. |
Retinue Orders
During combat, the Hierophant can issue Orders to his Retinue. This is achieved by switching to the Orders Bar which is used instead of a second weapon set.
Orders are special skills that modify the behavior of Retinue Members along with applying various buffs and bonuses to them. To issue an Order, switch to the secondary action bar via the Orders & Retinue button. There, you can select and issue various Orders. Orders have a different global cooldown and can have multiple effects. Most importantly, they often active or modify the Cooldown of your Retinue Members' skills. Retinue Members possess Aggressive and Defensive skills in their arsenal. These skills are sometimes used on their own, even if no Orders are given, but by proper Order usage, the Cooldown of these skills is reduced dramatically, along with the added benefit of utilizing them on command. On the field, an experienced Hierophant can turn the tide of the battle with a few well-timed Orders to purge heresy once and for all.
Order | Effect | Retinue Skill Usage and Buff

Unique Class Resource: Faith
Sororitas Inquisitors use Faith points to manifest Acts of Faith and become Embodied Saints.
The method of resource generation depends on which Sacred Rite was selected before embarking on missions.
You can build around your Faith resource in various ways. Some Battle Sisters perform well by transforming into an Embodied Saint and using up Faith points, but you can become equally powerful by using your regular weapon skills that can be scaled via Passive Skills so the more Faith you have, the more powerful you are.
Saintly Deeds
These decide how you gain Faith. You unlock them as you progress, and you can set this on the Command Bridge on the Faith Abilities altar.

Enchantments
We have added several new enchantments to the class as we felt that promoting a wider enchant pool is necessary for the Battle Sister. Although older enchants work perfectly well with the class, the unique mechanics warranted adding fresh ones to the pool as well.

Season 7 - The Season of Malediction
New Quality of Life Feature: Enchantment Browser
With Season 7, we introduce a long awaited feature to Inquisitor - the ability to view all enchantments and their properties within the game. To access the Browser, players must have Artificer Omikron Arkh unlocked on the Command Bridge - the Browser has its own separate tab on the crafting UI.
Main Features of the Enchantment Browser include:
|
Seasonal Mechanics
Maledictive Missions 75% of all Random Missions become Maledictive, bestowing unique Hazards and Rewards as well:
| |
Noxious Missions Within these missions, Regular and Stronger enemies are cursed with the Toxins of Nurgle. Tread carefully.
| |
Warpbound Missions Dangerous Warp Anomalies spread across these missions. Some are beneficial, some are lethal.
| |
Smouldering Missions Infernal fires spread across these missions. Can you handle the heat?
| |
Void Crusade of Malediction The Malediction is stronger within the Void...
| |
Slivers of Malediction Noxious, Smouldering, and Warpbound enemies drop Slivers of Malediction that can be exchanged for loot with Ragna Van Wynter
| |
Seasonal Missions When the Malediction Bar fills up, a Seasonal Boss Mission spawns. Some of these will feature Seasonal Boss enemies
| |
Seasonal Consumable - Ultimate Malediction Malediction works in mysterious ways...
| |
Caches of Malediction These special Caches can be found on Missions of Malediction, with each type containing different rewards
|
Shrine of Malediction
- Every shrine has a 35% chance to be converted to a Seasonal Shrine
- Each Shrine has an effect that corresponds to the type of Malediction:
- Smouldering Shrines will make every slaughtered enemy explode
- Warpbound Shrines grant 400% damage and 50% movement speed bonus and cost 3 Inoculator Charges
- Noxious Shrines allow the player to stack Needler Toxin onto enemies with each hit
Seasonal Items
Within the Season of Malediction, players can obtain a new type of Seasonal Item called Malediction Seals.
These items were designed to aid players within the Season and to counter the effects of each type of Malediction. Each of them bears a huge bonus against its opposite element, but each of them bear various penalties, so choose carefully which one you use.
- There are two types of Seals from each element, an offensive and a defensive type. Their stats can roll in a wide range and cannot be rerolled, so you must get lucky, or be patient until you get your desired Seal of Malediction.
- Seals of Malediction can be dropped from Heralds of Malediction, or purchased via Ragna van Wynter on the Command Bridge for 2000 Slivers of Malediction. Each Stash of Malediction contains a Purity Seal of the same element (it is a 50/50 chance which one will you get).
Noxious Stash of Malediction | Smouldering Stash of Malediction | Warpbound Stash of Malediction |
Seal of the Raging Inferno Purity Seal (Offensive, Heat)

| |

Season 6 - The Season of Escalation
New Quality of Life features (affecting the whole game, regardless of Seasons):
Skip Campaign option |
We'd like the players to experience Inquisitor - Martyr's story Campaign at least one time, but after they have finished it, we'd like to offer the players an option to skip the story Campaign when starting a fresh, new character.
What happens when you create a "Skip Campaign" character:
- When you create your character, you are prompted to chose from a Radical or a Puritan character
- Radical characters start with 300 Radical Morality points
- Puritan characters start with 300 Puritan Morality points
- This is needed to compensate for the Morality points rewarded within the Campaign, plus it was almost impossible to reach maximum morality in the past
- All characters will start at level 1 with default gear
- You are immediately on the unlocked Command Bridge with all NPCs available
- All subsectors are unlocked on the starmap
- Mission Deployment is available
- Co-op features are available
- Void Crusade's level requirement (35) remains unchanged
- You can start your character's journey by playing any mission from the starmap or from the Mission Deployment
- Note that you cannot play any campaign missions with this character, because the game considers them "done" already. If you want to play the story missions again, create a new character without the "Skip campaign" option.
How to skip the Campaign
- Players can create a new character with the "Skip Campaign" option, when they are eligible to do so
- Players are eligible to skip the Campaign, when they have
- finished Martyr's main Campaign
- finished the Prophecy expansion (if they own it)
- finished all the side content. These are: The Enemy Below, Viper's Nest, Harbingers of Hate, and the Drukhari and Khorne expansions.
Standalone Prophecy owners need to finish the Prophecy expansion as well as the mentioned side content, to be eligible to create a "Skip Campaign" Tech-Adept.
- If you finished Martyr's Campaign only, but not Prophecy, you can create a "partial skip" character, which takes you to the beginning of the Prophecy story.
- The character(s) that finished the campaign(s) should be present in the player's account (or in the graveyard) for "Skip Campaign" eligibility.
- The character(s) that finished the campaign(s) can be a seasonal or a non-seasonal character too.

Season 5 - The Season of Judgement
New Quality of Life features (affecting the whole game, regardless of Seasons):
GUI Redesign | Datahunt Rework | Reworked Weapons |
The third instalment of the refreshed interface has Arrived. After the Main Menu, Character Creation, and in-game panels, now the mission and battle interface have received visual and UX updates. | Players no longer need to hold down the interact button. Instead, they only have to interact with the game object once, then stay within a radius to charge the progress bar. The more players are within the radius, the faster the objective will be finished. | Tweaked the Heavy Bolter, the Multi-melta, the Heavy Flamer, and the Melta Gun to have new effects and new skill mechanics. |
Extra Inventory Tab | Unlocked Season 1-2-3 enchantments & added new enchantments | New Dedicated Server System |
All Characters received a free, brand new Inventory Tab! (The Tech-Adept's Module Tab has been removed.) | Unlocked 43 Relic Enchants from Season 1, 2, and 3 for general use, and added several new ones. To compensate for the increased enchant pool, added a new component to the Forge Efficiency tech tree improvement - it now reduces Relic enchant reroll cost by 15%. Also, we unlocked Archeotech Shards from Season 1, 2, and 3 for general use. | We have switched our Dedicated Server host from Playfab to AWS. All systems are up and running by now, multiplayer experience should be more performance-optimized, and when demand is higher, new servers are created automatically. The next step will be the transferring of our backend systems entirely. This will happen sometime during the Season. |

The Season of Empyrean Echoes is here. Deadly enemies of past eras have been resurrected by the Warp and vomited back into Realspace, bringing a new reign of terror and havoc to the Imperium. Hunt down these Revenants and Empyrean Elites with extreme prejudice and send them back into the Sea of Souls where they belong. Then embark on a Crusade in the Void and reap your well-deserved rewards.
Season 4 - The Season of the Empyrean Echoes
New Quality of Life features (affecting the whole game, regardless of Seasons):
GUI Redesign | Purge Rework | Unholy Cathedral Rework |
The second instalment of the refreshed interface has Arrived. After the Main Menu and Character Creation, all in-game panels have received visual and UX updates. | Within Purge missions, you players gain a stacking buff increasing damage and movement speed. Slain enemies may also explode to enhance the carnage, and as you progress, their aggro radius increases. | Players now have 10 minutes to defeat 10 extremely strong waves within the new Unholy Cathedral. A new Leaderboard for the fastest times has been implemented along with new, special rewards that can be acquired once per day, per character. |
Killstreak Rework | ||
There are now 7 Killstreak effects that grant increasing Damage / XP bonuses for 10 seconds. These can be enhanced via the new Seasonal Items as well. |

The Caligari sector is beset by a new threat, a newly formed Chaos cult called the Void Brethren. Previously just an inconsequential cabal of void pirate gangs, they have been bestowed upon the blessings of Nurgle, a horrid gift that gives them power beyond mere mortals. With their ships they carry this gift far and wide, absorbing the dregs of the Imperium into their ranks. Other pirate gangs, fledgling cults, criminals and deserters, the Void Brethren grow stronger each day. The Caligari Conclave can ignore them no longer, they must be stamped out before their filth spreads too far.
Season 3 - The Season of the Void Brethren
New Quality of Life features (affecting the whole game, regardless of Seasons):
Co-Op Void Crusades | Void Shard Exchange | Currency tab |
You asked for it, we delivered - from now on, you can conquer the Void with your friends. Read more about the challenges during the development of this feature [here]. | You can now turn Void Shards into Void Dust, then form new types of Void Shards. This allows players to start Void Crusades for which they did not originally have the required shards. | Void Shards, Cortex Fragments, Seasonal Currencies, Tarot Cards and the like will no longer hog inventory space. Everything can be found neatly organized in the new Currency panel. |
Loot from Destructible Objects | Loot Auto Pickup filter | Tarot Card Removal |
Crates, barrels, and the like will now drop loot upon destruction. Mostly you will find Credits in them, but sometimes there are supplies, inoculator charges, and even relics in them! | You can now filter the Loot Auto Pickup feature so your character will only pick up items of your desired quality. | You can now remove already selected Tarot Cards and Empyrean Seals from missions. |
Tech Adept Rebalance | ||
Although the Tech Adept was popular there was a lot of criticism involving its itemization, the lack of lategame build options and overall game feel. We agreed with some of these and reworked his kit to reduce unnecessary micromanagement, simplify itemization while keeping his customizability and overall improve his synergy with his constructs. The Tech Adept's gameplay should feel more fluid, his build options were widely extended and he's very much capable of tackling lategame challenges in his new state. |
Seasonal Mechanics
Thunderbolt of Authority
- Dealing and taking hits, as well as using your Inoculator now grant a chance to cast a Chain Lightning that hits the closest enemy target and jumps to the next 2 enemies, dealing damage. Thunderbolt of Authority has a 15-meter range, and deals 500+CharacterLevel*50 damage. Every jump halves the damage caused. Also, every cast of ToA breaks destructible objects in a small radius (5m) around the player. ToA has an internal Cooldown of 2 seconds that can be reduced with the various new items.
- To increase your chances of casting ToA, you can use the new Seasonal Shards.
Seasonal Missions
Of course, Seasonal Missions had to play an integral part in the gameplay of Inquisitor, so we have decided to spice it up a little by adding in 59 new seasonal maps, divided into 3 tiers:
- Tier 1 - "Basic" Seasonal missions, each having a 50% chance of spawning a Pirate Spoil Trove
- Tier 2 - Tougher, "Advanced" Seasonal missions, each containing 3 Pirate Spoil Troves
- Tier 3 - "Boss" maps, with a new enemy, the Soul Grinder, with each map containing 5 Pirate Spoil Troves
How to reach these maps?
- To enter Seasonal Missions, the players need to collect Void Brethren Insignias. These Insignias can be looted from high ranking Pirate officers, destructible objects, Void Plunder Caches, and of course the Soul Grinder.
- You can use these Insignias on any mission as they are Empyrean Seals. When you use an Insignia on a mission, the mission will transform into a Void Pirate mission based on the type of the insignia you have used.
Players can loot and use 3 types of Void Brethren Insignias:
Void Brethren Insignia I Can grant missions from 2 tiers, with a low chance of granting Tier 2 maps. (25%) | Void Brethren Insignia II Can grant only Tier 2 and Tier 3 missions (85/15% chance) | Void Brethren Insignia III Can only grant Boss type missions. |
What can I find within these Seasonal Missions?
Contraband Servoskull
| |
Pirate Spoil Trove (Locked)
| |
Void Plunder Cache
|
Pilfered Tech-Shrine
- Every shrine has a 35% chance to be converted to a Seasonal Shrine that will always spawn a Contraband Servoskull upon interaction.
Bounty of the Void Brethren
|
One stack of the Bounty of the Void Brethren grants the player
- +20% Chance for Relic or better items
- +10% Chance for Void Brethren Insignia drops
- +15 Base Damage

The new Seasonal Journey reflects this as well, with new objectives and new rewards! Obliterate the heretic Void Brethren and gain new Portrait frames and Trophies!

Welcome to the Warp Surge
Our main design goals for Season 2 were to implement the feedback we received during Inferno from the players into the new Season, while creating mechanics that encourage players to constantly adapt and react to the changing events on the field of battle. Therefore we came up with the idea of Warp Anomalies that appear during missions, each providing a different bonus that you can benefit from. But beware! The warp is treacherous and the price of toying with such power may be high.
- Creating a Seasonal Character means a fresh start for every player
- Seasonal Characters can not interact with non-seasonal characters in any way but the chat
- Seasonal Characters benefit from various Seasonal Mechanics
- Seasonal Characters can receive Season-only items
- Seasonal Characters can find Season-only random missions on the Starmap
- Seasonal Characters are distinguished by the icon in chat and near the portrait frame, and by various indicators in the Main Menu
- At the end of the Season, all Seasonal Characters become regular, non-season characters along with all their items and other possessions.
Warp Anomalies will pop up as you progress through the missions. Most of them have combined effects on the player, meaning that you can gain an advantage if you interact with them, but they will also have negative effects on the side, such as damage, or other, more mysterious effects.
Here are the anomalies you will be able to meet during your travels:
Zone of Manifestation
| |
Warp Nova
| |
Corpus Warp Fleck
| |
Elemental Warp Fleck
| |
Veil of Carnage An unique Warp creation, this anomaly will follow you after interacting with it.
| |
Warp Pillar
| |
Zone of Malevolence
|
Further Season Mechanics and itemization
Besides the Warp Anomalies, our goal was to create an array of Seasonal Items that draw power and utility from Warp Anomalies while staying useful outside of Warp environments. With this vision, we created 15 new Seasonal Items with unique enchants, and along with them, 6 new Relic Enchants independent from items, meaning they can be rolled on any freshly obtained Seasonal items.
Here is the full list of Seasonal items and enchants that you can find during the Season of the Warp Surge:
Storms of Judgement Heavy Bolter
| |
Hell's Gullet Chainsword or Eviscerator
| |
Siren's Storm Death Cult Blade
| |
The Dark Maw Warp Rod
| |
Omicron's Enigma Omnissian Axe
| |
Desperation's Futility Signum
| |
Celtor's Flux Rosarius Force Field
| |
Warpsmith's Fury Personal Teleporter
| |
Vortex of Rapidity Digital Weapons
| |
Refugee's Wail Inoculator
| |
The Bleak Coil Neural Implant
| |
Heart of Darkness Main Implant
| |
Vortex of Despair Eye Implant
| |
Annihilus Seal Purity Seal
|
The following Relic Enchants can only be rolled on weapons dropped during the Season of the Warpsurge:
- 50% of All Damage is Converted to Warp Damage
- 5-10% chance on hit : All strikes are guaranteed critical strikes for the next 3 seconds [8 seconds internal cooldown]
The following Relic Enchants can only be rolled on armor dropped during the Season of the Warpsurge:
- Interacting with Warp Anomalies increases Loot Rarity from Monsters by 5% for 15 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Getting a Massacre Bonus grants an Inoculator charge (this applies to Killstreak and Massacre)
The following Relic Enchants can be rolled on any items dropped during the Season of the Warpsurge:
- Picking up Warp Flecks also increases your movement speed by 15% for 35 seconds
- 20-30% chance (scaling to 40-50% on level 100) to Spawn a Warp Fleck on killing a Champion enemy
The following Relic Enchants can only be rolled on Melee Weapons dropped during the Season of the Warpsurge:
- Interacting with Warp Zones creates a Gravity Well, pulling up to 5 nearby enemies to melee range
Of course, a new Season required a new Shard as well, so we added a new Warp Shard into the game, which grants the players Supreme Warp Resist, Warp Damage, or Warp Reflect, depending on where they use them.
Warp Shard | Effect | Tier I | Tier II | Tier III | Tier IV | Tier V |
Armor | + Supreme Warp Resist | 1% | 3% | 5% | 7% | 10% |
Weapon | + Warp Damage Bonus | 2% | 4% | 7% | 12% | 25% |
Other | + Warp Reflect | 2% | 3% | 5% | 10% | 15% |
The Seasonal Journey was altered a bit as well, based on player feedback as we tweaked around the more tedious tasks and added some new, Warp themed ones to fit the bill of the new Season.
Warp-tainted Missions
A completely fresh addition to the new Season will be an unique mission type, named Warp-tainted Missions. These missions can spawn if the player uses Intels, which now have a 33% chance to spawn Warp-tainted missions, now indicated in their tooltip as well. These missions will have unique terrain elements and effects to them, and of course the rewards for completing such missions will not be scarce.
Within these missions, unique Warp Gate anomalies can occur where the player will encounter new enemies from the Void.
Warp Chests
Loot chests will appear randomly during Warp-tainted missions, and players will have to scramble to find them before they disappear into the Warp - only to reappear again somewhere else on that map! These chests have a 30 second timer, which is also displayed above them.
Warp Shrines
Just like in the previous season, Shrines across all missions will have a 35% chance to transform into Warp Shrines, granting players the Veil of Carnage bonus for 30 seconds.
Unlock unique rewards
Unlock 4 unique portrait frames, and bolster your Trophy Desk with swirling Empyrean Rifts as rewards for your Seasonal Journey. These will be visible to other players as well so they will know you have done a great service for the Emperor.

It is time, Inquisitors, to prepare for the upcoming Warp Surge… the Inferno has now been reduced to cinders and ashes thanks to your effort, but soon enough you will face a new, darker challenge arising from the void - the Warp Surge is upon us!
Seasonal ladders are an iconic element of modern ARPGs, and we are excited to announce this new feature coming to Inquisitor. Ladders are built around a key theme, which will affect gameplay in- and outside of combat. New buffs and spells, challenging quests and exciting rewards await - who will be the one to ascend the highest on the ladder and complete all Tier Objectives?
Welcome to the Inferno
Season of the Inferno will be built around one of the most primal elements - fire. Are you going to strike down on the enemies of the Emperor with righteous flame, or will you be the one to be burned? This is for you to decide. The fiery theme will be present across the entire game for ladder characters, from the selection screen to the deepest, Nurgle-infested nests.
Seasonal Mechanics
- Inferno: Your attacks have a 5% chance to ignite enemies and cause 10% weapon damage/s for 5 seconds. This chance is increased by 4% with every completed Seasonal Tier.
- Blaze of Glory: Killing Ignited enemies or Exploding enemies grants you a stack of Blaze of Glory. 1 Stack gives the player 2% Movement Speed, 5 Heat Resistance, and 10 Hp Regeneration. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Explosion: 15% of all Normal and Horde type enemies explode when killed. This deals 30% of their maximum HP within a radius and an additional 10% of their maximum HP per second for 3 seconds in the same area.
- Shrines: All Shrines across maps have a 3% chance to turn into Inferno Shrines. While under the effect of an Inferno Shrine (60 seconds), all slain enemies explode.
- Seasonal Weekly Buff: +5% Heat Resist and +5% Heat Damage. This applies to Season and Non-Season characters as well.
Seasonal Items
During their Season adventures, players may receive unique, Season-only items with enchantments tailored to fit the fiery menace of the Inferno. There are several such items added to the Season, and some of them are rewarded within Tier Objective caches as well.
Seasonal Enchants
Besides Seasonal Items, there are a few Relic Enchants that can be rolled on any items for Seasonal Characters:
- Hellraiser (Tech Adept Weapons): All Construct Heat attacks apply Inferno on Hit with a 15% chance
- Fiery Wrath (Weapons): 10% Damage bonus against enemies affected by Inferno
- Glow (Signums): Enemies have halved resistances against heat attacks
It is important to note that with the Season update, numerous new enchants become available for Season and non-Season chaaracters alike. One of these is a 10-15% XP bonus enchant that can be rolled on any of the items to make leveling a lot easier. For the full list of new enchants and balance changes, head to the changelog.
Archeotech Shards
In Season of the Inferno, we have introduced the Inferno Shard. Each tier starts dropping after completing the corresponding Seasonal Tier. After completing each Seasonal Tier, players receive one Shard, and from that point on, that level of the Shard starts dropping from various ingame sources.
Inferno Shard | Effect | Tier I | Tier II | Tier III | Tier IV | Tier V |
Armor | + Heat Resist | 1% | 3% | 5% | 7% | 10% |
Weapon | + Heat Damage Bonus | 2% | 5% | 7% | 10% | 15% |
Other | + Heat Reflect | 2% | 3% | 5% | 10% | 15% |
Seasonal Tier Objectives
As you progress through your Seasonal Journey, you'll have to complete various objectives. You can keep track of these by pressing Shift+J or opening the Seasonal Window from the right side widget. Completing all of the objectives in a Season Tier will net you various rewards, including guaranteed Season-only items from Tier III onwards. Each tier rewards the player with a Skull that they can display at the Command Bridge on their Trophy Desk. |
