Van Helsing II won't start (steam)

Starting Van Helsing II (via steam) starts, but then just sits at the main splash screen. I've tried two workarounds posted on the Steam forums:

1. https://steamcommunity.com/app/272470/discussions/0/622954023416019130/ (see last suggestion as the second).

System:

Win 10 x64

Steam: Latest version

Hi,

first please make the previous changes back, then find the InstallUtils folder and install everything you find there including the files in the 2 folders present there. Also please make sure your VGA driver has the latest update!
