Playerbase is too low?

13

I am new to this game and played it for a while now (~20h) and my Char is lvl 24 and my account something arround 22 or so.

I played it all alone, only had the chance to Coop once ... At first I thought it is bugged, maybe it was I dont know couse there was no feedback. Then I searched at steam charts how many players this game currently have ... I was suprised for only 80-200 players currently online (depending on the daytime). The game is good so far, many bugs und unbalnced stuff, but it is fun. The progress is sometime not logical and there some content holes in the erly game when you not know wht to do next or how to level your character faster ...

But what are the Devs planning to to counter the not existing player base? I was suprised, too from a early access game price of 50€!

But with max 200 players this game is already dead and I ripped the money for it, couse I see no chance of coop in the future.

How does anyone know the 'player base'? So many guesses/so many factors. As long as you enjoy playing the game it does not matter.

What do you mean by „online only“?
Online only game. There is no offline mode.

Many people don't play much those days. Most stuff is tested and some folks don't want to play much more because the release should be in Q1. The numbers are pretty low anyway but we have to wait till release to see the numbers rise... at least that's what I am thinking.

Just starten yesterday, gut the Chat was blistering with requests to join a Coop Match regardless of lvl. Looks like a pretty  good Community for me.  Had some different adventures in other Games.

Platinblond in a small, gut stable Community has some Hügels benefits.

Not all people participate in EA play the whole time. I remember the times when weekly lists had 5-6000 players. Diablo3 testing had, if I remember correctly, 1000 beta testers.

As for the price, it was mentioned many times already - we (EA supporters) expect this to be an AAA-quality title, and we joined to help development through monetary means and through, hopefully useful, comments and suggestions.

As most such a games today, I do expect that initial price will be 60eur and kept that way for a certain time. Devs promised continual care and improvements, both free and paid (developing costs, after all), but anyone who thinks EA should be worth 20eur (or the whole game), should expect that kind of prices + something for a large content patchs, to be available in the future, through Steam sales or similar. No (good) new game goes immediatelly with price reductions.

People who have doubts about the game future or quality shouldn't buy it in EA, as clearly stated. To mention Diablo3 again, only 1st out of 4 acts were available for beta-testers - personally, I'd like to see something more while EA lasts, but I'm not going to blame NeoCore for not showing me everything they did now. I support other games too, some more than 2 years now, and actually play them rarely, just to check their progress. So far, my choices were good and those games seem to progress nicely and developing in the way devs promised and I expected.

At least, none of them announced microtransactions - that is something what would make me regret for early/kickstarter support. Expansions and paid DLCs are fine, look at Civ series where since Civ3 expansions made the games exceptional. Stellaris DLCs are also good examples - added depth and overall improvements...

And hey, WH40K players, how much those figurines cost? Books, other stuff? I know some prices, they aren't cheap at all...

This game is early access.....

and to be more specific Early Alpha, Most people who are playing, Are playing to give proper feedback to the developers and keep testing future patches, This game as for his current stage doesnt suppose to have A lot of people....There is even a chance price will go higher

And Please dont say this ******

"But what are the Devs planning to to counter the not existing player base? I was suprised, too from a early access game price of 50€!

But with max 200 players this game is already dead and I ripped the money for it, couse I see no chance of coop in the future."

Since they let people know :
"Before buying, please keep this in mind: Steam Early Access is for people who are willing to try an incomplete and unpolished game to help developers with feedback. If you're looking for a complete experience, please wait until the full release. You won't gain any advantage by buying early - Early Access doesn't provide an advantage in character progression, nor is it cheaper than the full game. All characters start with a clean slate with the full release, and there will be plenty of sales after release if you'd like a discount."

Use your goddamn eyes for the love of god.

This all depends on what you want, like and with what kind of play you have fun?

If you like the game by playing solo - no Problem with the low player base at the moment.
if you more a Team player or MMO kind of multiplayer - be patient. With official release of the game the playerbase will rapidly grow. Keep this in mind. The Game is still in Dev. Good thing takes time ;-)

We're here, just waiting for release. Like Airsickhydra said. Our gaming channel is another 10 people waiting to buy the game day 1 and another 40 players to see us playing it. Theres going to be a community, just right now its a waiting game, to see what/when/how/why they do whatever they do untill that sweet sweet day arrives.

Ah thanks for the explanation, so I hope there will be more players when the game is released.

There's a couple things to consider

First up - Many of us have had this alpha a long time already - We have done everything there is to do 100 times already. When a new patch drops there is a peak of about 1-2 weeks (sometimes 1 week for smaller patches) in player interest and number, but we all know that this game is incomplete and there is a wipe at the game's launch which puts people off of overly investing. The majority of us though are here to test and give feedback on a patch, once we have done that we go back to playing other games and wait till the final release.

The other thing to consider is that having 200 players isn't an issue given the testing phase was specifically priced without a discount to 'avoid' players who want a complete game for good value. The majority of this game's interest will be waiting to see what it is like at launch when the final features are included. Or just once their progress won't be entirely wiped out.

TLDR - Player's currently see this as a testing phase for feedback, only few of us play it on a regular basis given the wipe at release.

50€ not just early access this is the game price!!!

"But with max 200 players this game is already dead and I ripped the money for it, couse I see no chance of coop in the future."
This is only alpha version!!! Not a full game!!! Alpha version played only a HardCore Wh40k fan.

Keep Faith!!!
