Only in multiplayer, me and a couple of members of my parties/cabal have had an issue where after a successful mission, upon returning to the ship, our inventories are empty. Logging out to character select and back in seems to fix it, but it can happen several times during a gaming session.

The issue you reported is a persisting bug. The relog indeed helps this was built into the game to prevent item losses until we entirely handle this problem.
