Inquisitor - Martyr:

Hierophant Retinue

Inquisitors!

Only two weeks until impact - Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr will receive a new DLC on November 12! The Hierophant Class not only comes with three subclasses, but also a brand new way to play the game - you will be able to bring AI-controlled subordinates into battle, up to four Acolytes.

So let's talk a bit about the Inquisitorial Retinue!

Some of you have already wondered how the new class differs from the Tech-Priest who has the ability to summon Constructs. The Hierophant class works differently. As he progresses through the game, he will unlock new Acolytes who will permanently follow him. You may decide to disable some members of the Retinue (or all of them, if you wish), but this will be your team of hopefully unexpendable subordinates. Because of this, you have some control over their actions and progression.

First of all, you can issue various Orders during gameplay - these are handled on the Orders Bar that replaces the second weapon set. Orders are special skills that modify the behavior of Retinue Members along with applying various buffs and bonuses to them. They can have multiple effects and they have different global cooldown. These Orders include "Move to Position", "Focused Charge", "Defend", "Taunt", "Salvation" and "Sacrifice".

Second, you can manage your Retinue at the Command Bridge and during missions, this management layer includes their gear and skills. While your Retinue is limited to your maximum level, they still gain a Skill Point every five levels which you can spend however you wish. You can also assign a unique Perk to them and change their gear.

Retinue Members have their own skill tree as they come from different classes: the Crusader is unlocked after the Tutorial level, the Assassin at Level 20, the Psyker at Level 35, and the Battle Sister at Level 50. (Some of you have asked, so please note that you don't need to own the Sororitas Class DLC to be able to unlock her as a Retinue Member.) If you have played all these classes before, you will have some understanding of their unique abilities, a great Hierophant Inquisitor will make the most of his team using such knowledge.

You can absolutely play through the campaign as a new player using the Hierophant Class because the Retinue will be very helpful to you in tough situations. But proper Order usage and a deeper knowledge of available skills can dramatically improve your combat effectiveness. You can also be helpful to your Retinue, as the Hierophant Inquisitor has a multitude of skills, Blessings that can boost the effectiveness of the Acolytes. We will explore these in our next blog post, so stay tuned! Until then, please wishlist the DLC!

Hi looking forward to playing this NEW class & all the season's too...   Had a question though, I play this game on my ps4, will this class be available on Ps4 as the same time as the pc release?  Also, will the update with offline mode & all season's available, does that mean the season of judgment is ending on ps4 & then all the other season's will be available to play?  Or Is that planned for future update?  I'm really hoping not as I would love to play the Assassin & the NEW class in one of the season's I've never played before.

Hello! This Class DLC update is for PC exclusively. As for the Seasonal Journey, it will release for consoles soon, without offline mode as of now. Cheers!

Well that's some unfortunate news :(   Can't play on my comp either as i use a mac.   I guess i'll save my money as I won't be able to purchase the new class, but I was actually more excited to play all the seasons.  Did you guys have any eta for console release of all the seasons?  2,3,6 months away?   Since I'm having this conversation going anyways too, how long do  seasons usually last on console? So this means the dlc won't release on consoles in the future?
