How does Mailsystem work on PS4?

Well yes,

I have no idea how to send items to other players even in multiplayer mode. I only found descriptions for the PC version but it's hard to follow these instructions without a cursor... Searched in the "Social" tab but didn't find it.

Could anybody tell me where I can find that option?
