So, to start from the beginning, I digitally pre-ordered the game through Xbox back in May, shortly before it was removed from the store due to the delay(s). When you do a digital pre-order through Xbox, it downloads the game and keeps it locked until it's official release. Sing then, I had never deleted it from my system after the delays, never got a refund, and never cancelled my pre-order for the rumored digital cancellation. After the initial delay, I checked with Microsoft and they said that my pre-order was still valid and I left it at that.
Now for the interesting part. I woke up this morning to find that Martyr was in the process of downloading an update. I let it finished and, just out of curiosity, I checked to see if it would load up. Lo and behold, it did and I played through the first chapter before getting off. I can confirm that achievements are working, as I already got two of them, and that it's pretty much like playing it on PC. The only bug I encountered so far was that chests/crates will open but nothing spawns, so that's either due to me getting a pre-release version of the game or it's a bug, which will make it easier for Neocore to fix before the release later this month.
In the end, I'm not sure who messed up to allow me to play the game early, most likely Microsoft but I'm hoping Neocore or their partners will not take action against them (or me). My assumption is that this means digital pre-orders for the game will be reappearing soon or that it's them gearing up for its digital release. Long and short of it is, have hope fellow Xbox players. The game does exist on consoles and I didn't notice any difference between the PC and console version in the little time I spent with it. As it stands, I think I'll hold off on playing anymore until the official release just because it seems a bit unfair to players and Neocore that I somehow got lucky. BUT, if Neocore wants to tell me that I can be a "beta" player to give them feedback or allow me to stream, then I won't say no to that either.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I had bought the Imperium edition of the game and had all of the bonus stuff downloaded but none of them were available when I got to the hub.
