ok, i loaded the game. all my equipped weapons are gone and all my lost weapons haven't returned, which is fine because weapons are so easy to rebuy. just saying. oh, and when my character is unequipped it looks like he is holding an invisible rifle

Not sure if it is helpful or not but here is what Visual studio debugger showed during the crash.

What you should do is verify game cache via Steam and see if it helps.
If it doesn't, be sure to post here with your ingame account name and character name.
how do i find out what my account name is? i think i put some gibberish, random name in. i see the log off button is gone. my character is frank
1. Create two characters. A and B
2. Complete a mission with chararacter A.
3. When the rewards window appears click the x in the top right corner.
4. Hit esc and click exit.
5. Restart the game and login with character B. You should have a chest in the top left corner indicating that there are rewards to be claimed.
6. Click on the chest and get ready to crash.
Also hit another bug while playing.
Once you get the complete mission vote window after completing the objectives I entered a turret and I might of accidently hit accept. And was warped back to the hub. The camera was however stuck in turret mode. After restaring it was fine.
I did solve it though. I had two characters. One close combat and one heavy weapons crusader.
Last time I played I was playing with the close combat character. Next time I logged in I selected the heavy and started getting the problem. It happend again and again after logging in.
Once I logged in with the close combat char The loot window popped up and I was able to claim the rewards.
My guess is the rewards are character locked in some way but the game isn't correctly handling the case when you login with a different char before claiming the rewards for another.
Getting this problem too.
I tried starting a mission but it said that I had to redeem my pending rewards first. I clicked the chest icon in the top left corner and then it crashed.
Will try verify like you suggested and get back to you.
