"Shield Mastery" Passive - clarification on what exactly does it do?

In-game description: "Shield Mastery: +50% Deflect from shields."

By shields, is it referring to "bubbles"/force fields (in-game known as Void Shields)? Or it it referring to hand-held shields (Suppression Shields and Storm Shields)?

The description refers to the shield items such the Storm Shield.
