Love the game, great tribute to Warhammer 40,000 lore
Warhammer 40K DiscussionHey! I bought the game on release for my PS4 Pro and been playing a lot of this. I started a first character to play the first few missions and then restarted with something that suited my playstyle better...melee for the win!
I also read a lot before buying the game and like many other I found the many negative posts quite disturbing...but then I started to see a pattern in these posts. Most of them talked about how bad the game was because of the loot system and other, imo, futile reasons.
I'm a 40k/AOS player and love the GW lore. So when I took the plunge I did it for the lore and the story. Don't get me wrong, I love loot, levels, skill trees and perks, but the main concept that will always keep my playing a game is the story. Martyr delivers and more storywise. Just remember the first few missions...an ancient Fortress-Monastery that sends weird signals throughout the system...what's better than that?!?
I don't mind how the loot and levels work in the game, in fact i'm glad Neocore took it differently. I'm an Inquisitor and Inquisitors don't change gear halfway through daemon-infested corridors and dead worlds. They go in with their favorite gear and charge head first.
So yeah, I love the game, it has been a great surprise for me. Sure the visuals have some quirks and glitches here and there but it's nothing that can break the fun for me. I also can understand that some people wanted a loot fest and gain 15 levels in an hour but Martyr is more than that, it's a dark story where you can fight a Leman Russ with a power sword!
