I purchased the Van Helsing trilogy for the Xbox One and I can't load the first game. I played through this game a few years back and I had old save data that the game found. At first I believed it may have been a sync issue because it showed my old gamertag. I deleted both the local and cloud save data but the game still gets stuck at the "Welcome . Press A to continue" dialog. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no avail. I let the Xbox sit on that screen for about 30 minutes and still it did not respond to the controller. For what it's worth, I'm playing on an Xbox One X. I really enjoyed the game the first time I played through and was looking forward to a run through the trilogy. If there is more information I can provide please let me know.
