Armor does not list its "hidden" deflect values.

4

I just noticed that after manually adding my Deflect values there was a missing bit and it turns out all armor has a hidden default deflect value. This inherit value should be listed on the armor, so it matches the ingame sum at the character ui.

Values are 5/4/3 % from heavy to lighter types for crusader.

Yeah i was in another mood and was once more randomly testing skill trees to see what exactly is actually working (not as many as I would like).

Found the issue, you are skilled into Defensive Stance in the Defense tree.

While it says it converts damage into your SR pool, what it actually does is completely different. I've already posted it on the mantisBT.

Actual effect of Defensive Stance is:

20% of your Damage Reduction is added to your Deflect stat

So the reason the different armors popped up with different values had to do with their natural DR being different. If you'd like to test it yourself find armors with vastly differing DR values or simply find a non armor piece with DR on it.

mhh than this is a additional "feature" of the skill, since i clearly notice how suppression is subtracted instead of HP, as stated by the tooltip. I can't really judge if the HP damage is really 25% lower as expected, but it effects the SR pool depletion.

How hidden are we talking?

Like damage logs and total deflect vs shots fired?

or just on the character screen?

If it's just the character screen, does the armor itself have deflect on it? if not is there a skill that might be converting some portion of the DR into deflect?

I mostly ask because no matter what armor I equip, unless the armor has deflect as a stat it has not once altered the deflect value.

Just in the character screen, i tried all 3 armor types (crusader) with no deflect values on it whatsoever and it increases my deflect values. I did not check perks, is there any perk/skill that can add deflect based on the base attributes of armor, so i can recheck?
