Is Steam necessary to play WH40k?

Greetings!

I've seen WH40k Inquisitor Martyr on sale, including Prophecy for 27.19$.

I'd like to know if I need Steam to play this game in case I bought it through Neocore Store. I'm not keen on using Steam for some kind of games and I don't know if this game has its own launcher.

yes, in case you intend to play the game on PC you will need a Steam account.
