PS4 PRIORITY BUG FIX(ed?): Unplayable Edition

Game locks up in menus and at end of the first level. Had a bug in chapter 2 which locked progression but after reinstall now is unplayable. 

Purchased yesterday but been trying to get this worked out all day. Tried everything. Made posts. No news? No emails back? I feel robbed and I see alot of console players starting to feel the same in the community. 


What I did play I LOVED but after loosing progress twice and not getting any response all day I am growing warily. I'm rooting for you guys but I need some communication at minimum. This hot fix seems to be the issue. I'm sure ur busy and u know but as someone who paid money yesterday for your product/service this is a let down. 

I'm reasonable. 

Make it up,... send me an email and at least tell me when this will be done so I can move forward and stop debating calling ps4 to give me a refund.

I'm chomping at the bit for this arpg grind.

I cant say this enough I feel like you guys have something truly special at play here but the follow through has got to be cleaned up.

Community Management accountability and expectations. EVERYTHING WRONG with our current state of affairs?

Game development is not exactly easy and mistakes DO happen. Mistakes are excusable, thankfully, especially first timers or uncontrollable circumstances that may(count on it) arise time to time. More over, if we are not making these same mistakes over and we learn from these events, its almost expected. I'm sure we all agree(silently lol), we all have.

The POINT. 

When mistakes or unforeseen circumstances do arise though, IT IS 100% YOUR MOST IMPORTANT JOB(Game Management) and also the BEST opportunity to show your CUSTOMERS and FANS you not only deserve their money/time but FOREMOST you CARE about your WORK. (Maybe you want to keep doing it as well)

Maybe most would say,... "that shows you care about the player". (Cute)

Players buy into a game mostly never direct with the Source. Taking a chance on a title and a company, through only the words of a friend or YouTube/Twitch personality review and sort through a lens of genre they most resonate with(maybe through a sale promo). Wins on a game find are life changing and we THEN learn about the people who made it and ask for more. Titles that suck hurt, treated as the plague. So expectations are the tools, guide, and unfortunately the downfall. The standard, AS IS. 

Starting a title that you are sold on and are excited about just to stop working is like being slammed on your head. At the very second you CAN'T provide an mvp (viable being key), it's time to shine. First contact! Dont panic. 

Communication and hopefully a resolution that's swift but at minimum vigilant. That moment is the first moment, people care about YOU, because they need YOU. So that moment is THE moment you get the GRADE. 

That's the test. Release is just a quiz everyone.

Make this a priority, its weighted.



Community Management! Hire in this area first.

Problem solved and every company needs a firefighter.

Game appears to be working I can now do missions again on my main toon haven’t checked for past ch 1 on a new toon yet though

Unbelievable, it seems to work now! Played the tutorial missions and could progress to further campaign missions. 

But that won't hold me back wanting to get some form of compensation for these two very frustrating days. Perhaps a free season pass ?


Yet, nobody from Neocore adressed and commented the mess. Irritating at the least, I would say. 


And hopefully there won't be any more trouble...but somehow I've got a bad feeling about that. Could be possible that every time something bigger - like those additional seasons - is added, the fun starts again.

This is exactly the same crap I'm experiencing. NOTHING is working at all.  How one can break a game this badly apparently with some little hotfix, as it becomes literally unplayable right from the beginning and all following mechanics is beyond me. That's a serious f*** up. I never ever had such troubles with any other game I played whatsoever. And I played a lot.



What irks me the most: I  bought this as a physical copy and won't be able to return it - here in Germany opening a game normally means you will have to keep it. No chance returning this at the stores. Man, I really should have bought something else.

Spoke with them yesterday. Monday I have a follow up with Sony, if we still haven't heard anything from the devs. I did however work out specific conditions in which people in my community can get full refund. Only under specific terms. Details provided as needed.


Please dont harass me with this(warned advanced), it's a one time card for everyone so if majority is happy with resolution no one gets refund. Want to make clear lol but guys I will help everyone who purchased recent get 100% if we dont see action. I spent over an hour on the phone with ps support making sure documentation were made so I could ensure a happy end one way or other. I guess I'm glad to hear that the problems I'm having with this game aren't specific to my ps4. I bought on thursday because it was on sale and that night I played for a few hours without issue. Then friday, when I went to play after work, the game just stopped working. I'm seeing all of the same problems that orher people are posting about here.

I wonder how refund - at least in part for all the trouble right at the start - would work in case of having bought a physical copy, which I did. 40 Euro for the Deluxe version on PS4.


And I really wonder, when somebody finally is going to adress this shitty situation. Doesn't matter if it's weekend, Easter or whatever, as I wrote before: When unleashing such an update you have to observe what happens. This is their damn responsibility, making sure a product that cost money, works. It's no free-t-o-play game after all. Sucks big time.

I myself have NOT been able to personally confirm these reports. This makes me curious to know...

Enjoying the experience and discovering together, NEW, is always a bonus. I am suprised to not see an official reply after the outrage through the "Hub" and online. Chapter 2 - 4/5 clues on Magos still bugged, no main mission available. There was one after the recent fix, but it does not solve the problem after I did it... :/ they NEED ro hire someone to communicate at all time you are right.

Just to add I am having the same issue continuing the story....making a new character...playing past the first mission in the game without a freeze...


My son also bought the game and is unable to start...

Same issue. Barely played for a few hours. Made it to the command deck, while loading into the next screen the game crashed and now when I log back in there are no further missions to continue and cannot travel to anywhere else. Game breaking.

This is honestly ridiculous. I've been attempting to trouble shoot on my own to no avail. I'm relieved to know I am not the only one who cannot:

1) Create a character: confirming character does nothing until I restart the game... suddenly THEN I see the 5 characters I created while attempting to create 1.

2) Finish the tutorial, or mission 1: if the tutorial continues I wouldn't know as I can't play past this mission. After waiting at the end of level for approximately 12 minutes the loading screen finally occurs... but that leads to the biggest game break.

3) There are zero missions available from the starmap regardless of what sector I go to... also once I go to a sector theres no way to return or progress anywhere else other than back to the main menu.


Not happy with this, regardless of price paid.

I'm having the same issue. Can't continue after the 1st mission. Bought this a couple days ago cause this is the kind of game I love to play.

Guys it's good fun with really good mechanics and systems. I mean really good fun for ARPG fair. And we all know our selection is slim in this department. It will be worth it as long as we get resolution and now we have people we can play with which is were this game SHINES! I was just really getting hooked before this went down.


I will make a ps4 community open to everyone in this post for future play and squad up. Give me about an hour. Maybe we can find something positive in all this guys...

I'm also having the same issues with new characters and first mission crash on PS4.

I only found the issue when my first character's campaign bugged at the second  chapter and so I thought I'd try another character.  Note my first character was started before they hot fix patch.

Hi guys, it's not just new games IV been playing for a few months have a lvl 74 crusader, 38 assassin and 16 pskyer, all at different campaign stages. Crusader on season 2, assassin on season 1, and psyker on chapter 3 main story on the martyr. Game has had niggles throughout regarding story missions but this is the first encounter IV had where ALL missions have ceased appearing. Interestingly though I have an assignment on its final mission which will play through but when it comes to completion ends with loading back into the map with no character and unable to move.


So what do we know...


The recent hotfix has caused the widespread issue.

The issue involves failing to accept the completion of missions and accessing of the next available mission.

Character creations are failing to upload correctly.

Selecting random missions from starmap has no issue with accepting or completion.

Selecting tarrot card missions accepting or completion has no issues.

If I were to guess it seems there is perhaps a communication issue between the information being sent by the user to the server. (I'm no expert just a place to maybe start looking?)


Hopefully it can be sorted out lord knows I'm not starting my crusader again took a long time to get all the relic items for my build.


The game is great fun and hopefully we'll all get to carry on enjoying it soon. Oh and advise to get the most of your game go through the main campaigns/assignments first as they reward the most xp, ignore starmap until endgame, save/acquire ALL your fate points for the endgame and ensure you unlock tarrot cards that reward relic items, makes the grind a LOT more fun and less tedious rewards.

Core game is there.  True Isometric Arpg fan here as well.  Doesnt matter if the game is near perfect...if it doesnt work it doesnt work period.  (no flak at you personally just a general statement by me and felt by all here Im sure)

And that itself is a serious problem, telling me as the paying customer, that stuff like this may always happen again, because ....weekend? !  Imagine everybody doing this, the world would fall apart within hours. It begins with a simple game and ends with melting cooling rods in nucelar facilities.... Ok, this is a bit exagerrated, but you get the point.

As a software engineer, initially I wasn't that upset. I understand stuff happens. But the lack of response here and elsewhere is inexcusable. In the discord chat for support, one of the lead programmers is playing APEX. I guess it's nice to be able to relax on the weekend when you just broke your game and people who just bought it during the sale can't even play it. What a joke of a company. I now fully understand how they can release a bug filled pile of excrement.

I'm not gonna waste any more time on this game or joke of a company. I'll just get a refund and call it a day.

Everything seems to work now. I have been able to procede in the campaign and move to chapter 3.

Just now it is midnight and tomorrow I start working again....a whole weekend of gaming fucked up - never felt so frustrated since tiger woods 2007 golf where all code was broken. Thx to this bug I have discovered something positive - Xcom2 is a great game...maybe I will play it half an hour now too.

Bloody hell...a whole weekend blown up....

I still can't play only bought the game yesterday can do the first kinda tutorial mission I'm presuming that's what it is but after that I get the screen with different locations on it but litterally that's as far as I can get I can't select any of them to start and can't go back so have to close down entire fame and do it again and still exactly the same, really really bad experience so early from a new purchase isn't filling me with confidence, it needs to be fixed very very quickly as far as I'm concerned

Exactly the same issue for me.  

Purchased yesterday, download game and new update, first log in last night. Character creation - 1st mission - stuck at menu at the end of the mission, can’t progress. Have to close application to get out, mission progress not saved so can run mission again from the start.


Eagerly awaiting fix so I can actually start this game.

I'm still stuck on first mission with new characters. And stuck with 4/5 clues in chapter 2 for characters I had passed the fist mission, even though I've found the biologis.

Same thing happening to me too. Bought it yesterday in a store, had to install a whoopin' 27 Gigabyte update and then, in the first mission, after having some videochat, my character's disappeared and nothing works anymore. Man, I waited months buying this one to be sure to get a relatively bugfree game, and now this?!  Is the team even testing their updates at the slightest before uploading them?  Sorry, but that sucks big time.

While the issue isn’t fixed an I share everyone’s frustration I will say that the game is very fun but they gotta fix the bugs an graphic glitches but to be fair game still is pretty damn good for an small developer I just think they need some beta testers badly

I've made a completely new character and it's been able to get past the first mission. Characters previously made haven't been able to though.

I'm in the same boat.  


I bought the Imperium Edition Wednesday.  Got a Crusader to 11 and Psyker to 5.  I logged in after the hotfix and played crusader after the mission it was on, it bugged.   No more progression.  Played Psyker, it bugged on next mission.  Created a new Assassin, it wouldn't create when I named it (or so I thought anyways).  After 4 times pressing the triangle button to accept the name it said my slots were full.  I closed the game, came back in and all those failed attempts created characters.   Well i played one of the new Assassins and it won't finish the first tutorial mission, it gets to the end and gives "End Mission" but nothing happens.  I have to force close the game.


Very frustrating.  I'm a big fan of the 40k universe and I think this game could be great. Somehow it slipped under the radar, I don't have the time for games I used to.   


I have a really bad first experience with it now, though.    What I played seems really good, but this is disappointing.


Looks like the company is in Hungary and it's early in the morning.  Hoping they work weekends :D  Don't see much activity on these boards from anyone who works there.

Just some positive thoughts... love the game, even with the issues.


I really hope you guys dedicate to making this game better and release future continuations in the Warhammer franchise, expanding on story and refine the games quality. But VERY happy. This is my first true experience actually exploring the Warhammer Universe. I am blown away with the depth and lore of this universe. Ozzing with character and strong atmosphere. Also this is a fun intro to the realm, playing as an Inquisitor. 


I really look forward to the future of this title and the betterment of this development team.


This doesn't change anything already discussed but a reinforcement of why these things cant happen.  I want to see you guys continue to be successful.

Yep it's working fine up until now, I got my inquisitor to level 15, without any hassles like missing hints or something like that. Everything seems to be in order.  In the beginning I found the technical performance somewhat problematic. Playing on a base PS4 equals a shoody framerate and screentearing. Albeit not to a point where it's unplayable, mind you. Even when there's not much going on. After a while my eyes seemed to adapt to it, but I hope there will be performance boosting in the near future.


If you like WH40K, take a look at the last incarnation of Space Hulk. It's a faithful, technical up-to-date adaption of the turn-based board game. there also "SH: Deathwing" which transfers the battle against the horrifying Tyrannid Genestealers to ego-shooter. Much critized, (also because of technical shortcoming, but I found those much less irriitasting than in "Inquisitor") but I liked it very much, because of the overall visual design and  dense atmosphere it created.

Tarot an priority missions still work though upon trying the vipers nest story mission same big occurred as did in main story so the over all big seems to be tied to the campaign mode or is this just my experience?

Also ppl should remover this by blizzard or some other big ass company but I agree the game is worth the wait I’ve only had my for 47hrs and shelled out for the imperial edition but from what I can see from other big instances deva response an fixed the effected accounts rather quickly for somthing of the nature of those bugs so as u suggest let’s give them the befit of the doubt
