Inquisitor - Martyr:
Hierophant Class Basics
Warhammer 40K NewsInquisitors!
Our robust Action-RPG Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr will receive a new DLC very soon. Arriving on November 12 on the PC, the Hierophant Class introduces a brand new Inquisitor background that will fundamentally alter how players can approach the game.
The Hierophant Inquisitor, like the other classes, comes from an Imperial background. Specifically, as a former Ministorum priest who attracted the interest of the Inquisition as a devout Hierophant. He first became an interrogator, and now he serves the Inquisition in its sacred mission.
We always wanted to introduce the Inquisitorial Retinue to the game, and now we finally have a perfect class for doing so. The Hierophant Class DLC was designed to facilitate a new kind of gameplay, one that involves squad management - with up to four acolytes accompanying the player.
The Hierophant himself is equipped with new abilities and gear, and he can use various Blessings in battle. This class is especially a great choice to pair with the recently released Offline Mode update, as members of the Retinue have corresponding backgrounds from previously introduced classes, and they are essentially computer-controlled co-op partners - who must obey your Orders.
Even though the Hierophant might usually stay away from the heat of the battle, he is more than capable to protect himself. He carries a weapon in one hand and a relic in the other. Most importantly, members of the Retinue can be equipped with their own gear and can be managed both on the Command Bridge and during missions.
As usual, the new class will have three different starting sub-classes, namely the Confessor, the Cardinal and the Drill Abbot.
In our upcoming blog posts, we will explore the differences of these subclasses, we will take a quick look at the new abilities and gear, and we will also explain more about the Inquisitorial Retinue. So check back soon, and in the meantime, please wishlist the DLC!
