Frame rate is almost unplayable. Unable to sufficiently help with testing because of this. Thanks for your time.

Given I took the time to survey about 10-15 players for their hardware and performances and I can confidently say that there is something very wrong if you are getting 12 fps during idle in a mission, with an i53570k and 1060.

There are three other people I know of with the exact same hardware who have over double that frame rate with shadows turned off. Even the first 10 or so videos I did on the game were using this same processor and an inferior GPU.

Not saying that this 100% rules out optimisation as the culprit but I do find it curious that the only other players I have met with this hardware and similar frame issues all were using their internal GPU and not realising it. I'd continue to entertain the possibility that something on NVIDIA's side of things is causing more stress than it should.

If it is just down to optimisation and somehow your hardware is struggling compared to others on comparable systems (it's possible) then all you can do is reduce strain on your CPU because that is what will be limiting you. Just make sure anything else that might be taking some workload is turned off. One feature of the i5-3570 is that it can't play Martyr and do other things with any degree of comfort. Not right now at least.

Wouldn't give up just yet however. . Entertain the possibility that something might amiss.

Thanks for the input!  I agree but I'm willing and open to anything at this point. I think it is an optimization issue as well.

I will keep listening to any and all help.

As for the service pack and Win Build number; those can be okay. Service Packs are mostly just the updates to a certain point combined and many Win 7 Versions just install with SP 1 while their update settings will bring them up to date anyway, it won't read as SP 2 in the diag though.

I think the problem may boil down to the OP expecting an optimized product - which it is not.

A fresh install seems to be a bit overkill for me at this point.

I am so happy I asked you! I am more happy that you are helping me.

I was mistaken by unplayable. I meant that I can't accurately assist in testing.

Frame Rates:   Base 20;   Mission Start/Mission Idle 12;   Battle Action  2-5.

I will update my service pack first.

Then I will try a fresh install.

I am pretty sure about all my drivers including my UEFI and my DirectX 11 but I will double check.

Then I will check back.  Thank you very much.

To the best of my knowledge that is the only issue i'm aware of which might explain the performance.

Otherwise perhaps try a fresh install - updating drivers etc - double checking you have the direct X files all installed.

Just a random thought but Win7 service pack 1 is pretty old :D doubtful but possible that's an issue. Perhaps staff can confirm this.

Can you confirm what you mean by unplayable? - Is it the moment you are in a mission, or just in combat? What frames are you gettign at idle inside a mission, what about in the main base? - I can at least tell you what you should be getting from your hardware in comparison.

Thanks for the response.

I have already watched your videos on this subject and applied the advice. I am not using a laptop though.

I was hoping there is something else I might have missed. Any more ideas? I appreciate any thoughts you might have

and your time.

Wow, a "Help Me Hydra" thread...what a great idea. Devs should Pin this.

Right.

Go in Nvid control panel and where it says something like "choose appropriate device"- Think its "global settings"? (don't use nvid)

That'll likely fix it because Nvid doesn't realise Martyr is a game some of the time.

You won't get higher than 20 frames in combat with that GPU probably, but it'll be playable. Turn down shaders/shadows.

Good luck.
