Low fps workaround

3

Heya,

If you are running into the same issue I have had on a 960m or more modern card here is a quick solution from Discord.

  1. Open the control panel for your gfx card
  2. Select display GPU activity in notification area to see if your card is running the game.https://puu.sh/u6Fjg/5e0830e4ef.png
  3. Select manage 3d settings
  4. Under global settings select your gfx card/high performance option and not auto select or integrated gfx
  5. Restart Inq. Martyr to check https://puu.sh/u6EVh/36fa5a0024.jpg
  6. Once you are finished in the alpha reset step 2 back to default option.
  7. Purge the enemy.

Thanks to the guys on Discord support for helping me out.

Unfortunately this had no effect on the FPS for me, still hovering around 15 FPS.  GTX 1070, i7 6700k.

This is more of a laptop issue than a desktop pc issue - since we have an integrated graphics card as well.

15 FPS on a GTX 1070 seems really odd to me! I would post that as a separate problem

To add to the OP's post, Megapull also told me this workaround (with my added tip)

1) Head to the steam folder and locate: steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor - Martyr

2) Find the .exe file

3) Right click and click 'create shortcut'

4) Move the shortcut to your desktop

5) Right click the shortcut

6) Choose 'Run with graphics processor'

7) Choose 'High-performance NVIDIA processor'

This will start the game with the NVIDIA GPU - and you won't have to go into the control panel to turn it off every time.

Thanks for the help. I have done what you said and my fps went to 40 fps from 9 fps.
