FPS MEGATHREAD - DATA COLLECTION (Aug)
Warhammer 40K DiscussionAlright soldiers. In my limited wisdom I thought it would be helpful to give the Early Access players a heads up as to what frame rates they can expect Hopefully mitigating some disappointed puppy dog eyes. Currently the minimum spec seems to reflect the game in an optimised state and not be "current".
Would also be very handy/interesting to compare before and after optimisation data :D at least to give me some ammunition for a video.
Therefore I would greatly appreciate if you could take a couple moments to just put your CPU / GPU and average "in combat" Frame-Rate-Range for single player missions. Google turning frame rate counter on in steam if you need to :)
For eg (my 2)
Ryzen 1700
RX480
Fr-Range - 20-40 (From heavy combat to light)
With max settings.
i5-3570k
RX480
Fr-Range - 10-30
With Max settings.

FX-8350
GTX 1080
Fr-Range - 20-50
With shadows turned off
Intel Core I7-4770 3,40 Ghz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4GB
16GB DDR 3 RAM
With Shadows/AA:
33 FPS Idle
20-24 Heavy fighting.
Without Shadows/With AA:
50 Idle
33 Heavy fighting
Without AA but with Shadows:
33 Idle
30 Heavy Fighting
Without Both:
57 Idle
37 Heavy fighting
all of it with Medium Settings
My performance is close to Dewrill's with an FX-8350 (stock clock), medium-high settings (a mix, mostly high), and a second-hand Radeon 7950 (3gb VRAM, unsure of specific production card at the moment and too lazy to check). 16gb system RAM (matched), don't remember off the top of my head what I stuffed in this case (at the moment I keep thinking of my old G-Skill Ripjaws set that I traded off). Generally I only dip into the 5-10 range if I'm in a full coop group and everyone is blazing away with AoE effects (especially heavy flamers--four heavy flamer particle effect spams is enough to choke it down).
One note, Hydra: you'll have to post this and try to have it stickied in the Steam forums for it to get the best visibility--most users use Steam primarily and won't "bother making a second account when the devs should read Steam". I'm sure whoever they have running moderation over there will sticky a compiled copy if you let 'em know what you have in mind--I've seen it in a few others when the devs and their community managers aren't rubbish *coughCode}{atchcough*. That being said, even posted and stickied there will still be dozens of threads, because Emprah forbid someone bother using a search command. :/
*though i must admit im running dual monitors with animated backgrounds and menues all the time and have like 6 other programs like Discord running.
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition 4,0 GHZ
MSI Gaming 1070 GTX 8GB
16 Gig DDR3 Ram 1866 Vengence Pro
All on MID + Shadows : 17 - 35 Fps with heavy battles
Shadows off : 25 - 35 Fps
Idle on Ship : 55 - 60 Fps
Idle in Level : 35 - 40 Fps
All on Max + Shadows : 10 - 20 Fps in level with and without battles
MSI Dragon Ed 2 Laptop
I7- 4700MQ 2.4 Ghz (3.4 Boosted)
Nvidia GeForce 780M 4GB 256-bit GDDR5
32GB (4x8) DDR3 1600
At Max settings - 20fps - 35fps in mission (depending on combat intensity), up to around 40fps on bridge.
Shadows off bumps it up around typically 5fps in mission but still tops out around 40fps on the bridge. (jumps between 38 and 42 typically)
I have also tried it on the wifes old Desktop rig
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3GHz Six Core
16GB (4x4) Corsair vengeance DDR3 1600
Gigabyte Radeon R7 260X 2GB 128 bit GDDR5
At Max settings - 15 -20fps in mission, 25-30fps on bridge
Shadows off jumps to between 20-25 fps in mission, doesn't really seem to effect fps on bridge
This PC will be receiving an upgraded GPU and possibly CPU so will update fps figs when it happens
(wife doesn't really need an upgrade for her photography work and may be getting a Surface pro instead....if that is the case Ill update it to be used for gaming again).
I am currently working on a completely new Ryzen CPU based build but by the time its finished Id say the game will be at full release and optimized.
Its a bit better since the update , but still with shadows on its hard to play in big fights ( 20 fps ). Whats making me curios is that sometime the fps is waving between 60 to 30 in some areas of a level with no enemies in it and no destruction done.
Set this current order state as My default.
