So my computer supports direct X 11 and I've updated my sound card drivers however the problem continues to persist! I've even validated the cache and done a fresh install. I'm not sure what else to do

I have exactly the same issue, the standard workaround you mentioned didn't work for me either.

What I tried:

Re-installed DirectX using DXSETUP.exe in the ..\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor - Martyr\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010 folder.

Same issue as well. I am not getting any sound at all, in game. I keep getting the notification to reinstall DirectX.

Reinstalled DirectX and reinstalled Realtek drivers as directed. Still no sound

One of the mods instructed me to also try the following:

Go to your SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor - Martyr\InstallUtils folder and install everything there.

For me that was:

DirectX > DXSETUP.exe
PhysX > PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe
vcredist_x64-1.exe
vcredist_x86-1.exe

It did not work for me but hopefully it can help either you or XxCrazyMuffinxX
