Mission finished, dialogue box box opened asking me if I wanted to leave the mission, but I wanted to flesh out unexplored parts of the map first, so I left the dialogue box open and ran about for about 20 seconds until the game crashed. When I restarted the game however, my leveling progress had been saved, and the items I'd picked up during the mission were in my inventory. Hurrah!
