Hey on console local coop, can my partner make their own character and level them up, gear them, and build them the way they wanr? Or do they have to pick a premade henchman?

The one who initiates the party will be able to choose characters, the rest of the members will play henchmen tuned to the main character's level.

Once you reach the command bridge, there is a terminal at the top right that says Local Coop.

So even if they have a ps plus account they cant have a custom character and get loot, gear, and level up?

The henchmen only accompanies the player in missions but do not get loot, cannot level up since its level is always similar to that of the player's and there is a custom gear it wears.

Lol my heart is broken, my wife will be so sad, this was supposed to replace D3 and alienation. No rewards for your teammate :(

Oh well, theres always D4 :)

In addition to that, if the henchman plays another class as the main (main assassin, assistant psyker) the loot will also be adjusted, meaning the assassin gets completely useless powerstaffs, or psyker gear in general, where she could've gotten a same rarity usable item. This happened to a friend of mine with his first relic item. He REALLY was upset about that, as it was just for selling. If anyone could've improved by that for example the psyker by being able to equip anything it would be much better.

Also as the henchman you can't choose your support item (can't even look at it), which kinda limits the way you play immensely. (Kinda sucks if you want a heal on "your" psyker and all you got is an item that decreases warp heat)

You'll get it active in the hub, after mission 6 (first five on martyr, then the campaign mission at the star card)

So if im right there is no Local Coop like D3. No Realy 2 Players with 2 Realy Chars?

If that happens you can stack it in the stasis chamber for a future character

You can check the Henchmans items and skills at the Local Coop panel where you can pick your character. ;)

And about the unusable loots: You can sell it/salvage it or store them in the Stasis Casket (at the Command Bridge) and you can give it to your other character who can use it.

This is probably the worst multiplayer in an action RPG looter that I've seen to date

The equipment thing is only partly correct. It's right that I can see my weapons' skills and my support equipment, but I still failed to be able to see for example: Eye implant, armor, inokulator, main implant, sigma -> everything defensive (I wouldn't need values) that would be worth knowing in terms of effects, and of course knowing, what the inokulator of the crusader does, because trial/erroring isn't that appealing.

Really disappointed in the local coop, I was hoping it would work like the coop in Diablo.

I wish I'd read up on this bullshittery first. Now I've wasted my money -_- gonna go see if I can't exchange it for something else. Local coop was literally the only reason I got this, only to find out it was an after thought tacked onto the end in the cheapest and easiest way possie.
