Where did it all begin?

Like many great adventures, it began with friendship. With a group of schoolmates, dreaming of doing something great while playing tabletop RPGs together. These young people were artists, entrepreneurs, and after school they became entangled in the world of board games and fantasy books. Budapest around the turn of the Millennium was still in flux, but the world became more interconnected, and Hungarians could find new opportunities world-wide.

The idea of game development came naturally, as it is an art form that can connect people all around the globe. Work has begun on a custom game engine, and in a whirlwind of pitches and contracts, the group of friends decided to go all in.

In 2005, NeocoreGames was officially founded as a game development company. But the journey towards its first success was still a long one.

Starting today, we will be celebrating the history of the company with longer blog posts providing some interesting details on the development of our previous games, smaller social media posts offering glimpses into company life, tidbits about how things are going for us.
