Can not invite friends to party

Purchased this game while it was on sale a few day back. Since then it has not worked for co-op with any of my firends that have purchased it today the chat function started working finally. Still nothing when we try to create a party. Have been able to make cabals and talk through them but actually playing together so far has been impossible.
